BOSTON — The discovery of a young woman’s body in Milton, Massachusetts back in June has now been counted as the 13th unexplained death in New England — and the grim tally is sparking fresh fears of a serial killer stalking the region.
A chilling milestone
The victim, 21-year-old Adriana Suazo of Boston, was found lifeless in Milton woods with no signs of trauma and no clear cause of death. At the time, officials offered few answers. But in recent weeks her case has been folded into a string of grisly discoveries — skulls pulled from rivers, dismembered remains in Connecticut, and bodies scattered across four states.
That makes Suazo the thirteenth unexplained case in just five months, a number that has locals convinced a predator is at work — even as police insist there’s no link.

Police downplay danger
Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble has urged calm, insisting there is “no forensic evidence” connecting the deaths. Yet each “isolated” case only fuels suspicion that authorities are downplaying the truth.
Thirteen bodies in under half a year is not an easy sell as coincidence — especially for families left demanding answers.
Panic goes viral
On Facebook and TikTok, theories of a “New England Ripper” are spreading faster than facts. Amateur sleuths have already plastered the region with red-dot maps, while communities from Boston to Maine question whether the next discovery is just around the corner.
Echoes of the past
The unease recalls the Boston Strangler of the 1960s — another killing spree authorities initially waved off until it became undeniable.
Police keep insisting there’s no serial killer. But with thirteen unexplained deaths and counting, New Englanders aren’t buying it. The fear is here, and every new case makes the whispers louder.
