BOSTON — A city on edge woke Monday to scenes of pure chaos after an overnight crime spree left six people hospitalized in a blur of bullets, blades, and blue lights.
Between late Sunday and dawn, Boston cops were stretched to breaking point as violence exploded across the city: a pedestrian mowed down, a barroom stabbing, and no fewer than four shootings in Dorchester in the space of an hour.

The mayhem began at 11:30 p.m. when a moped rider was struck by a car on New Chardon Street. The victim survived, but it set the tone for what became one of the most violent nights of the year.
Just 26 minutes later, police rushed to the Home Run Café on Mass Ave after a row outside the bar turned bloody. Officers found a victim stabbed multiple times and raced them to hospital.
Then came the gunfire — and it didn’t stop.
- A man shot on Ellington Street around 1 a.m.
- Another gunned down on Kingsdale Street at 2:50 a.m.
- Barely two minutes later, a victim hit in Barry Park.
- At 2:53 a.m., yet another shooting on Talbot Avenue.
All survived with non-life-threatening injuries, but the rapid-fire violence left Dorchester residents rattled. Police admit some of the shootings may be connected — but so far, not a single suspect has been cuffed.
As detectives scrambled between scenes, officers stumbled on yet another twist: a crash at Dorchester and Talbot avenues just after 1 a.m. led to the discovery of a loaded gun stuffed in the back of a wrecked car. One occupant was hauled off on firearm charges.
By sunrise, Boston had racked up six victims, five crime scenes, and one city in shock.
Police are begging for information as all investigations remain active. For residents, the question is simple: how did Boston spiral into a warzone overnight?
