BOSTON — Gunfire shattered a quiet Saturday in Dorchester when a man was shot and left clinging to life.

Police say the victim was gunned down around 4:30 p.m. near 326 Harvard Street. He was rushed to the hospital with what officials described as life-threatening injuries.

Detectives swarmed the scene as stunned bystanders looked on, but cops have not named a suspect or released any motive.

The shooter remains at large and the investigation is ongoing.
