Just before midnight, officers from BPD’s District B-2 responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 289 Dudley Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit is now investigating the fatal shooting. No arrests have been made, and the victim’s name has not yet been released.

The neighborhood has seen a string of shootings in recent months, with many residents quietly asking what, if anything, is changing. While press conferences come and go, the violence keeps returning — often to the same blocks, involving the same unanswered questions.

Sunday night’s shooting is a grim reminder that public safety isn’t just about perception — it’s about reality. And in parts of Boston, that reality keeps getting harder to ignore.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
