LAWRENCE — Another day, another illegal alien arrested in Massachusetts — this time for allegedly raping a child.
Webster Portalatin-Castro, 37, an illegal alien wanted for child rape in Ohio, was finally captured Thursday in Lawrence after months on the run. Authorities say he entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 during the Biden administration and somehow ended up hiding in plain sight in a Massachusetts sanctuary city.

According to ICE, Portalatin-Castro has no legal right to be in the country. But thanks to former President Biden’s wide-open borders and Governor Maura Healey’s “come one, come all” policies, criminal aliens are flooding into the Commonwealth with ease — some even wanted for crimes as horrific as the rape of a minor.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Cleveland Municipal Court on June 3. U.S. Marshals say Portalatin-Castro fled Ohio and slipped into Massachusetts, where he reportedly evaded capture for weeks before being tracked down by the District of Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force.
The arrest involved multiple agencies — including Massachusetts State Police, Lawrence Police, Lowell Police, and the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He’s now being charged as a fugitive from justice and will be arraigned before likely extradition back to Ohio.
Critics say Massachusetts has become a magnet for fugitives, thanks to state leaders like Governor Healey who have prioritized free housing and legal protections for undocumented migrants — while violent offenders use the chaos as cover.
“Instead of cooperating with ICE, this state gives criminal aliens a map, a mattress, and a driver’s license,” one Massachusetts resident told Mass Daily News. “It’s insane.”
No word yet from the Healey administration — or from Boston’s progressive lawmakers who champion “welcoming” policies but stay silent when the results are this grotesque.
