The incident reportedly occurred during Saint Joseph’s Feast in the North End. The woman told police she feared for her family's safety and sought legal protection following the attack.
Ciara D’Amico’s official City Hall biography remains active. Her current role covers Dorchester, East Boston, the North End, Chinatown, the South End, and other neighborhoods.
The original Mass Daily News report, which first broke the video, appears below.
Original Report
NORTH END — Who knew City Hall’s neighborhood team was so hands-on? Video footage exploding online appears to show Ciara D’Amico, Deputy Director of Neighborhoods covering hot spots like the North End and Chinatown, hurling a shoe like it’s an Olympic sport during a street meltdown.
Sources say the unlucky target is a single mother, caught in what’s quickly become Boston’s most outrageous family feud — live, in the streets she calls home. The victim was reportedly called a “junkie loser” during the altercation.
But wait, there’s more. Another woman — believed to be a family member — throws punches like it’s a family reunion gone wrong, while their mom, Karen D’Amico, rocking a black top and scheduler for State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz, can be heard screaming, “You are dead to me,” or words to that effect.
Locals have already jokingly christened the trio the “D’Amico crime family,” and honestly, the nickname couldn’t be more perfect for this taxpayer-funded soap opera.
This latest episode adds fuel to the fire blazing through Mayor Michelle Wu’s administration — with at least three Wu staffers arrested since April. Boston’s finest neighborhood team? More like the city’s wildest drama squad.
Mass Daily News reached out to Ciara D’Amico and Rep. Michlewitz’s office for comment and neither responded by the time of this publication.
Whether it’s a personal spat or a political powder keg, this video exposes the thin line between public service and full-blown street theater — paid for by you, the taxpayer.
Stay tuned. This circus is just getting started.
