ICE Hauls Away Female Suspects After Wild Norwood Home Invasion

Break-in leads to police chase, river pursuit — and federal sweep that puts spotlight on Healey’s sanctuary state policies

NORWOOD — Six women broke into a Norwood home in broad daylight last week, triggering a suburban manhunt and ending with ICE agents hauling away suspects outside the courthouse.

Police say the group — all from Maryland and all related — were caught inside a Neponset Street home on July 25. When the family returned, the women bolted, sped off in a car, then ditched it and fled on foot through woods and across a nearby river.

Norwood police, with help from Walpole officers, arrested all six.

They were arraigned Monday in Dedham District Court for felony breaking and entering, conspiracy, possession of burglar tools, and resisting arrest.

But just hours later, ICE agents picked up three of the suspects — along with two men who showed up to post bail.

Police say the women are tied to a multi-state burglary ring. ICE acted fast. Beacon Hill stayed silent.

Welcome to Maura Healey’s Massachusetts

Massachusetts proudly touts its "sanctuary state" status — but that didn’t stop ICE from stepping in when state officials wouldn’t.

No word from the governor. No plan to fix it. No comment at all.

While local cops did the chasing, it was ICE that made sure at least some of the suspects didn’t walk free.

Critics say Healey’s soft-on-crime, soft-on-border policies make Massachusetts a magnet for organized theft — and leave ICE to clean up the mess.
