LEOMINSTER — On February 3, two masked men walked into Sam & Friends, a small electronics store on North Main Street in Leominster. Within minutes, the owner had a gun pointed at his face, was duct-taped at the wrists and ankles, and robbed. The suspects fled in a gray Honda CR-V with stolen Pennsylvania plates. No arrests were ever announced.

But nearly six months later, one name has surfaced with chilling implications: Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez.

The Dominican national, now accused of shooting a federal Customs and Border Protection officer in the face during an attempted robbery in New York City, was already wanted in Leominster.
Mass Daily News has confirmed that on February 21, 2025 — just eighteen days after the Sam & Friends robbery — the Leominster Police Department issued a criminal warrant for Nunez for armed robbery with a firearm.
Officials have not publicly confirmed whether that warrant stems from the Sam & Friends incident. But the timing, location, and nature of the charge all align. Surveillance images from the robbery also show a masked suspect whose facial structure, build, and clothing style appear consistent with known images of Nunez.
One of the robbers wore a black puffer jacket, baseball cap, sunglasses, and a surgical mask. Nunez has appeared in similar attire during prior arrests. The physical resemblance is striking.

Nunez crossed the southern border in April 2023 and was released into the United States by DHS despite a deportation order. His criminal record since includes arrests for grand larceny, assault, criminal contempt, and most recently, the shooting of a federal officer under the George Washington Bridge in Manhattan on July 19.
The officer survived after being shot in the cheek and forearm.
Mass Daily News has contacted the Leominster Police Department for confirmation on whether Nunez is now considered a suspect in the Sam & Friends robbery. As of publication, we are still awaiting a response.
If confirmed, the timeline would suggest that the man who allegedly robbed a small business in Massachusetts at gunpoint went on to shoot a federal officer in cold blood — after being released time and again by law enforcement and immigration authorities.
One town’s nightmare may have been the country’s warning.
