WAYLAND, MA — A peaceful neighborhood turned into a crime scene Friday night after two armed, masked men barged into a Joyce Road home, beat the homeowner, and demanded gold in a brazen, targeted attack that has left Wayland residents shaken.

It happened just before 10 p.m. The homeowner stepped outside after hearing a suspicious noise — and was immediately confronted by two men in face masks, armed with handguns.

Within moments, the intruders forced their way into the house, demanded “all his money and gold,” and assaulted the man before fleeing through the front door.

The homeowner was left bloodied and bruised, treated for facial injuries at a nearby hospital. The suspects vanished without stealing anything — but not before delivering a chilling message: even quiet streets aren’t safe.

Police are calling it an isolated incident and the suspects are still at large.
